US Labor Secretary Commends Congress for Passage of Health Care Reform

Washington – Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis has lauded the US Congress for the passage of the health care reform bill which she called as “a new day” for every American family and for more than 32 million people who are expected to be covered by health insurance.
In a press statement released in its website, Solis said the passing of the law would “clear the path for Americans to gain the coverage and financial stability” that they needed and deserved.
“The House vote answers a decades-old call for comprehensive reform. It is a tremendous victory for workers, and it will help the nation’s small businesses strengthen our economy,” the labor secretary said.
“The passing (of this legislation) is solid evidence of the change and progress that the Obama administration have been committed to bringing all Americans,” she reiterated.
She further congratulated members of the house who voted for the comprehensive health care reform and announced that the agency can now focus with the task of job creation to address unemployment problems.
