EMPLOYMENT LAW: US Employment Up With 268,000 New Jobs
May 12, 2011
Washington, D.C. - The National Bureau of Labor and Statistics (NBLS) has reported an upsurge of 268,000 new jobs in the private sector, leading the workforce at the onset of second quarter.
Representative for the Labor Department said that the increase of employment rate in the private sector signaled the ongoing recovery for small and medium enterprises. It was expected to help large enterprises recover for the next quarter.
The NBLS report also showed that the number of jobs being offered in the non-farm sector increased by 244,000 at the end of April. It was significantly higher than Moody's Consensus figure of 185,000 new jobs.
Critics commented that the recent development may signal the self-sustaining capability of local businesses in the United States.
The employment rate in public sector remained negative as of April 2011.
