EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION: Texas Roadhouse Faces Suit after Rejecting Older Applicants

October 4, 2011

Boston- Texas Roadhouse in Kentucky is facing a lawsuit after refusing to hire older applicants, according to US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Reports said the EEOC officials have discovered Texas Roadhouse's repeated acts of discrimination among applicants who are 40 years old and above since 2007. The employer has rejected older workers for front line positions such as hosts, servers, and bartenders.

The EEOC filed the age discrimination lawsuit in US District Court for the District of Massachusetts after initiating a conciliation process. The federal agency is asserting damages on behalf of the aggrieved applicants.
