EMPLOYMENT LAW: State Settles with Drywall Company in Employment Lawsuits
April 06, 2010
Bakersfield – A drywall company has recently settled a lawsuit filed by the California Attorney General's Office as the company reportedly wasn’t giving some 200 past and present employees the state-mandated overtime pays and breaks, reports said.
Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. had originally sought $4.1 million from Charles Evleth Construction who eventually agreed to pay $350,000 to settle the lawsuit alleging that the company failed to provide their workers with adequate paychecks, overtime pays, and rest breaks.
Though relatively lower, The Attorney General's Office assured that the settlement will give the affected workers a fair amount of compensation.
