LABOR LAW: Southern California Car Wash Workers to Receive $1 Million for Unpaid Wages

January 11, 2012

Southern California – Underpaid car washers in Southern California are set to receive a total amount of $1 million for settlement of unpaid wages and civil penalties, reports said.

According to state officials, a particular group of car wash companies in North and South California denied their workers with just wages and breaks.

The settlement is an offshoot of October 2010 lawsuit filed against car washes in Venice, Laguna Niguel, Irvine, Fair Oaks, San Ramon, Santa Monica, and Laguna Hills.

Investigations found out that the involved companies willfully denied car wash workers with just amount of minimum wage and overtime pay.
