HARASSMENT: SDPD Slapped with Sexual Harassment Complaint
July 4,2011
San Diego-San Diego Police Department (SDPD) is facing a sexual harassment suit, which was filed by a female detective who alleges that she suffered from the unlawful conduct while working at the department’s sex crimes unit.
According to the complainant, examples of inappropriate conduct in the workplace include making sexual comments and sending offensive emails.
Reports said a detective Carl Hershman was also singled out in the complaint. The detective allegedly told her about a malicious dream that he had.
The complainant also alleged that she and some female detectives in the unit are suffering from retaliation and are being considered as whistleblowers due to the complaint.
SDPD refused to give comments regarding the complaint.
