EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION: Philadelphia’s Matrix, LLC. to Pay Former Workers $450,000 for Race Discrimination
Philadelphia – Matrix, LLC, has agreed to settle the race discrimination charge against the company by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, reports noted.
Matrix, one of Philadelphia’s popular cleaning companies, is set to pay at total of $450,000 to its 15 former employees on grounds of race discrimination charges.
According to EEOC, the company discriminated against its former employees by terminating them because of their race.
Investigations conducted by the Commission found out that the management of Matrix wanted to fire all of its black employees in order to have an entirely non-black cleaning crew.
In a press release by the EEOC, the agency has concluded that the company violated the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
