DISCRIMINATION: Palmdale and Lancaster Cities Slapped with Discrimination Case
June 8. 2011
Los Angeles- Palmdale and Lancaster cities have been sued for racial discrimination after they allegedly prevented Latino and black families from being given housing subsidies.
According to reports, the cities were sued by two residents who were allegedly discriminated on the basis of their race.
The lawsuit claimed that Palmdale and Lancaster allegedly started an advertising campaign, which is aimed in discouraging participants of the Section 8 voucher from moving in the two cities. In addition, the case alleged that minority families have been targeted with unneeded sweeps.
Reports said the plaintiffs decided to sue both Palmdale and Lancaster to prevent the cities from enforcing rules that are unjust and are “harassing” in nature.
