RETALIATION: PG&E Sued for Retaliation after Punishing Whistleblowers
August 10, 2011
San Jose - Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) has been sued for retaliation after it allegedly punished employees who voiced their safety concerns.
According to reports, different lawsuits have been filed against PG&E. The lawsuits claimed that the company failed to address the employees’ safety concerns prior to an explosion in San Bruno last September which killed at least eight people and damaged about 55 houses.
Mike Wiseman, a pipeline employee in the company, claimed that he was required to undergo a psychiatric evaluation after complaining about different safety violations in a number of sites.
A PG&E spokesman refused to comment about personal matters. He claimed that the company wants its workers to voice out their concerns.
