O.C. large firms announce 2,500 layoffs

Orange County, CA - Orange County large firms announced 2,500 layoffs this year, more than double the anticipated number in December.

JPMorgan Chase Bank located in Irvine is the number one in the list of layoffs, with 514 cuts planned all throughout the year, including 202 employees who are leaving this month.

The next one in the list is the Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center that closed down this month, putting 510 individuals out of work.

Overall, employers in Irvine accounted for over half of the major layoffs of Orange County with 1,332 filed with the state this month.
