EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION: Jury Selection for LA Sergeant’s Discrimination Case On-going
May 5, 2011
Los Angeles– The jury selection phase for the lawsuit filed by a former Los Angeles police sergeant in discrimination, harassment and retaliation case is scheduled for next week, reports said. This means the lawsuit may prosper into a full-blown court case.
The case stemmed from the complaint filed by Sgt. Ronald Crump who sued the city for mistreatment, harassment and retaliation claims.
Crump said he was subjected to continued harassment and when he took a vacation and returned to work, he was transferred to an “undesirable assignment”.
He said he was also moved to bicycle detail in the area known as “skid row in downtown LA”.
He also said he was denied promotions after filing a complaint in April 2009.
He was later transferred to take the Media Relations assignment but did not complaint until months later.
