SEXUAL HARASSMENT: Hotel Management Company Settles Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Lawsuits

February 3, 2010

Los Angeles – A company which was hired to manage the San Gabriel Hilton Hotel has agreed to settle two lawsuits filed by the Equal employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in 2007.

Landwin Management agreed to settle the discrimination and sexual harassment charges filed by the EEOC in behalf of non-Chinese banquet servers who alleged that the company replaced them with less-qualified Chinese workers.

Female employees also alleged that they were subjected to verbal abuse and Landwin ignored complaints about the supervisor.

The EEOC announced that Landwin has agreed to pay $500,000 in settlement, make significant policy changes, and abide by a three-year consent decree.

At present, Landwin Management has not commented on the settlement.
