EMPLOYMENT HARASSMENT: Harassment Suit against Former Councilman Settled

Norwalk – A lawsuit based on harassment, threats, and physical violence made by a former city employee has been settled in exchange for $100,000 worth of workers’ compensation, reports said.

In the lawsuit, Melody Baca alleges that she was subjected to harassment by former city council member Rick Ramirez and that she was attacked and verbally abused by a female employee and staff members at the Norwalk Senior Center where she had been working since August of 2002.

Baca claims that the harassment started in February 2003 and she filed and lost a claim with the city in July 2010.

A trial was set for next month in Norwalk Senior Center.
