HARASSMENT: Gay LAPD Officer Wins Harassment Suit, to Receive $1.1M
May 20, 2011
Los Angeles - A gay Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) office is expected to receive $1.1M after winning a harassment suit that he filed against the city, said reports.
Officer Ronal Crump filed the suit in 2010, claiming that he received derogatory remarks from his supervisors due to his sexual preference.
He stated that he tried to file a formal complaint, but the department’s Professional Standards Bureau said his claims are unfounded.
Crump was working in the “media relations sector” when the problem occurred. He was transferred to the Skid Row Area after he voiced out his grievances.
