EMPLOYMENT LAW: Fourth Early Retirement Program Canceled by School District

La Mesa - The La Mesa-Spring Valley School District has canceled their fourth early-retirement program for lack of people who signed up, school officials have announced.

The program offers 20 percent more of the employee’s final salary. It was aimed at making at least 29 people to sign up for their early retirement, unfortunately, only 19 people applied for the program and 10 of them had retired before the month of June ended.

The latest program is meant to help in aiding the district’s $7.1 million budget gap.
