EMPLOYMENT LAW: Former Model Sues CBS for Discrimination
March 1, 2010
Sacramento – Brandi Cochran, former model for “The Price Is Right”, has filed a lawsuit against the CBS network alleging that the stress and abuse she suffered from staff and producers caused her to miscarry in 2007.
Cochran kept her 2007 pregnancy a secret as she feared losing her job because of her condition. She eventually lost the baby and received a hurtful comment from a producer when she told him about the miscarriage.
“It's nature’s way of getting rid of a bad baby," the producer allegedly told Cochran.
Cochran again got pregnant with twins in 2008 and suffered discrimination when her condition was known. She then experienced complications in her
pregnancy and had to go on disability. She was terminated in February 23.
The CBS network declined to comment about the lawsuit.
