SEXUAL HARASSMENT: Former High School Principal Wins Sexual Harassment Case, to Receive $150,000

September 1, 2011

El Cajon- A former Mountain Empire High School principal has won a sexual harassment case against the school district, entitling her to receive about $150,000 from the defendant, said reports.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Joel Wohlfeil ruled in favor of Dianne Young and awarded her with damages for emotional distress after a bench trial.

The judge’s decision was handed out around five years after the plaintiff claimed that she was sexually harassed by then superintendent of the school district identified as Patrick Judd.

The case, which was filed in March 2010, claimed that the plaintiff was demoted to a classroom teacher after complaining about Judd’s actions. The suit also claimed that Judd started to perform the unlawful action against her after she became the principal in 2006.

According to Young, she reported the problem to the school board in November 2007, after she became aware that Judd had allegedly harassed six female workers. The superintendent retired after an investigation was conducted.
