Five States to Receive $7.6 Million in Grants from DOL for Innovative Re-employment Strategies
October 15, 2011
Washington - At least five states are set to be awarded more than $7.6 million in grants from the US Department of Labor to “design and implement strategies that will improve re-employment services for its unemployed workers”, a statement released from the agency website said.
The statement said the five states which include Idaho, Minnesota, New York, Oregon and Mississippi, have responded to “a call to innovate” around the national vision and framework which aim to create an integrated workforce customer registration process, use real-time data for decision-making, highlight skills transferability and social media tools.
The grants were awarded in partnership with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies and funded through the Workforce Investment Act.
