WORKPLACE SAFETY: Federal OSHA Grants $10.7M for Safety and Health Training

Washington - The US Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced the granting of nearly $10.7 million for 37 new and 32 returning recipients through the Susan Harwood Training Grants, a statement released from its website said.

The announcement said the grant recipients will include non-profit and community/faith-based groups, business and trade associations, labor unions, joint labor/management associations, and colleges and universities.

OSHA’s Susan Harwood Training Grant Program is a hands-on training and educational programs for workers and employers in industries with high injury and fatality rates. It is also a training program for young workers who have low literacy or limited English proficiency and are otherwise vulnerable. It is also available for small business employers.
