DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION: EEOC Sues Ohio-Based Health Care Services Provider for Disability Discrimination

January 21, 2011

Louisville, Kentucky - The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has sued Personal Touch Home Care for disability discrimination, said reports.

EEOC alleged that the Hamilton, Ohio-based home health care services provider terminated Pamula Calfee because she is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, and renal failure.

The agency further claimed that Calfee had worked in the company since 2000 and had been able to do her job duties even with her condition.

Reports said the lawsuit was filed in US District Court for Southern District of Ohio, Cincinnati Division after both parties failed to reach a settlement. It seeks injunction relief, back pay, as well as punitive and compensatory damages from the defendant.
