EMPLOYMENT LAW: Dolgencorp to Pay $50,000 for Sexual Harassment Suit

Greensboro- Dolgencorp, LLC also known as Dollar General has settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) by paying $50,000 to three female employees.
According to EEOC reports, three female employees of Dollar General have reported their employer's failure to correct a sexually hostile work environment. The women complained to their superiors that a store manager has sexually assaulted them, but the admin did not implement disciplinary measures.
The three women narrated in the suit that their manager offensively touched them on breasts and buttocks. Moreover, they received indiscreet remarks and requests for sex. They claimed that the sexual harassment have occurred from February 2005 to May 2006. The EEOC filed the lawsuit at U.S. District Court in North Carolina.
The Dolgencorp then entered into conciliation and agreed to pay $50,000 as settlement for the three aggrieved employees. The employer also assented to abide with EEOC regulations such as posting a copy of anti-harassment policy, conducting training to employees, and reporting any future sexual harassment complaints.
