EMPLOYMENT ISSUE: Disney Credit Union Operations Closing Anaheim Operations Center

January 26, 2010

Anaheim - The Anaheim operations of Walt Disney Co. Partner’s Federal Credit Union will be consolidated with the work in Orlando and Burbank over the next months.

The company confirmed the closing of its Anaheim operations center today but announced that the branches of the credit union in Orange County will remain open.

According to Partner’s credit vice-president Jim Kasch, the decision was made to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the credit union.

Kasch said that there are no exact figures pertaining to the number of jobs that will be affected but stressed that there will not be any formal layoffs.

He said all affected employees are being offered positions in the Orlando and Burbank centers and that the company will shoulder the expenses for relocation.

However, Kasch also indicated that some employees are not inclined to move and lose their jobs.

That, according to Kasch, may feel like a layoff to them. Partner’s has about 100,000 members and around 280 workers all over the USA, including staff at retail branches.
