Washington - The US Department of Labor has partnered with Microsoft Corporation to help war veterans find jobs – especially those from California, Florida, Texas, Virginia and Washington - by providing them with no-cost training and certifications, a statement released in its website said.

The voucher program aims to train war veterans and equip them with ‘important industry-recognized credentials’ to help them get employed.

Labor Secretary Hilda Solis said the agency will distribute 1,000 vouchers per year for two years in five communities, totaling 10,000 while Microsoft will provide in-person support to ensure that recipients will succeed in the training. The local workforce system will connect the veterans and their spouses with potential employers in the area.

The statement further said that each area will receive 1,000 vouchers per year for two years, totaling about 10,000 vouchers.
