EMPLOYMENT LAW: Court Rejects Billionaire’s Former Assistant Overtime Claims
March 9, 2010
Santa Ana – The former assistant of billionaire Henry T. Nicholas III has recently lost her last lawsuit alleging that she was not provided with overtime compensation wages.
Orange County Superior Court judge Derek W. Hunt did not award any amount of damages to Katherine Nichols for back pays as she is said to be exempted from overtime pays while working for Management Co., a company partially owned by Nicholas.
Aside from the recent lawsuit, Nichols also lost in a case last week where she claimed that she was wrongfully terminated because of her grand jury testimonial for drug distribution and federal securities fraud charges filed against Nicholas.
Nichols, who filed charges against Nicholas in February of last year, said she was very disappointed by the decision and that “money wins”.
