County Cuts off 20 in its Workforce
March 31, 2009
Tulare – Twenty positions will be eliminated as the County Board of Supervisors agreed on Tuesday that the layoffs will help minimize county expenses, reports said.
Positions that are to be eliminated include some in the Resource Management Agency like planning technician, building inspectors, and code compliance officer among others.
Two departments will be affected in the said cuts. Around $661,000 will be saved in the Resource Management Agency and another $300,000 in the Health and Human Services Agency annually.
Authorities confirmed that four employees are to be moved into related position while others with lesser seniority would be transferred to other county jobs.
