September 15, 2010
Los Angeles – The California Department of Industrial Relations and the California Commission on Health and Safety and Worker’s Compensation is set to host this year’s International Forum on Disability Management (IFDM) on September 20 to 22.
The event, which will be attended by hundreds of delegates from more than 30 countries, is expected to provide health, safety and worker’s compensation and disability management groups to share knowledge and evaluate their management initiatives.
The event will be held in collaboration with the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions and will feature distinguished speakers including Dame Carol Black, (Britain’s National Director for Health and Work), Wolfgang Zimmerman (Executive Director of Canada’s National Institute of Disability Management and Research), Dr. Nick Buys (Dean of Australia’s Learning and Teaching Griffith University), Dr. Joachim Breuer (Director General of Germany’s Social Accident Insurance), Dr. Susan Daniels (former Deputy Commissioner at the U.S. Social Security Administration), and John C. Duncan (Director of California’s Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
“Hosting this event gives California the opportunity to lead the international community in efforts to ensure successful disability management. This forum provides a unique opportunity for experts from around the world to learn from each other,” Director John Duncan said.
He said the forum will help them achieve their goals in assisting those living disabilities to become a productive part of the workforce and provide injured employees with the medical care they need.
