EMPLOYMENT LAW: California Boeing Workers to be Laid Off

Chicago – Many of the Boeing’s technical employees will be affected in the layoffs that is expected to take effect on April 23 is said to come from the states of California and Washington, reports said.
The company that employs 158,500 workers worldwide announced Friday that it will be laying-off around 1,000 employees, mostly from Engineering, Operations & Technology unit, as a part of cost-cutting measures.
About half of these employees are expected to come from Boeing's commercial airplanes division at Washington’s Puget Sound area and around 300 will come from California.
Aside from the layoffs, large units of Boeing are also conducting monthly layoffs in order to aid company’s finances.
