Broadcom Ex-general Counsel to Receive $2.97 million

February 4, 2009

Irvine - Broadcom Corporation will pay a total of $2.97 million to its former general counsel, David Dull to leave the company, according to a securities filing Wednesday.

As stated in a note in the year-end financial filing of the Irvine chip making company, the employment of Mr. Dull with Broadcom will end on February 28, 2009, under the agreement.

According to Dull's attorney, James Asperger, his client decided “to retire after discussion with the company and it was by mutual agreement," and added that Dull "served with distinction as Broadcom’s general counsel for over 10 years.”

Dull's payment includes his annual salary of $325,000, $198,656 for a bonus last 2008, $350,000 to cover the medical coverage of his family for several years and stock-based compensation that is estimated to be worth $2.1 million.
