SEXUAL HARASSMENT: American Apparel Founder Named in Sexual Harassment Lawsuit

March 8, 2011

Chelsea, New York – A former teen employee of Dov Charney has recently filed a lawsuit alleging that she endured eight months of doing forced sexual acts after Cherney promised her of promotions, reports said.

The $260-million lawsuit was filed by Irene Morales, now 20, in Brooklyn Supreme Court Friday.

Morales say that the abuse started in 2008 when she was asked by Charney to go to his Manhattan pad where she was forced to have sex with him. She claims that she was held against her will in the apartment for several hours.

American Apparel has released a statement saying that Morales signed a severance agreement which releases her claims against the company and that she will be willing to submit to a confidential binding arbitration if ever she would file a claim in the future.
