AGE DISCRIMINATION: AT&T Agrees to Halt Discriminatory Company Policies

November 04, 2011

New York– Telecommunications mogul AT&T has agreed to retract its discriminatory company policies and guidelines to resolve age discrimination complaints, reports said.

Due to age bias complaints, AT&T has decided to cease its policies about not hiring applicants and workers of certain age group, reports added.

In a press release by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), AT&T has created discriminatory policies when the company did not accept elderly qualified employees.

According to EEOC, the policies imposed by the company were in violation of Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA).
