EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION: 9 Former Cocktail Servers Sues Atlanta City Casino for Age, Gender and Race Discrimination
Thursday, June 2, 2011
Atlantic City, N.J. – An Atlanta City casino faces a gender, age, and race discrimination lawsuit after nine former cocktail servers filed a lawsuit against it, reports said Tuesday.
According to the complaint, the managers of Resort Casino in Atlantic City asked the employees to wear skimpier and sexier clothing to attract younger male customers.
After wearing the humiliating clothing and allowing to be photographed, the complainants were dismissed in favor of younger and sexier employees. The managers said they do not fit the stereotype of a sexy woman.
The joint lawsuit was filed by nine cocktail employees who have served the casino for years and received awards for their outstanding performance.
A Los Angeles women’s rights lawyer would handle the lawsuit filed by the former casino employees.
